Our client is a globally recognised engineering manufacturer that develops high-performance components for demanding industrial applications. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Test Technician to join their Product Engineering team based in Bridgwater.

The Role

Working alongside the Senior Test Engineer, you’ll be responsible for carrying out a wide variety of product testing activities within a dedicated engineering test laboratory.

You’ll prepare test equipment, perform testing in accordance with engineering specifications, accurately record results and support the ongoing validation and development of new and existing products.

This is a varied, practical role where you’ll work closely with engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure testing is completed safely, accurately and efficiently.

The position is full-time and based on-site, operating within a flexible working hours system.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up equipment for a wide range of engineering tests.
• Conduct product testing in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
• Accurately record, organise and maintain test data and results.
• Support product validation and verification activities.
• Assist with quality assurance and product development programmes.
• Ensure all testing is carried out safely and in accordance with laboratory procedures.
• Work closely with engineers to continuously improve testing methods and processes.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe laboratory environment.
• Identify issues during testing and communicate findings effectively.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

• A practical engineering background gained through employment, formal education or a completed engineering apprenticeship.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence working with test equipment and engineering products.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• The ability to plan workload and work proactively with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Good numerical skills and confidence interpreting technical information.
• Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
