Are you an experienced Product Development Engineer looking to work on technically challenging products within an established international manufacturing business?

Our client is a global engineering and manufacturing organisation with a long-standing reputation for developing high-performance engineered products used across critical infrastructure and industrial sectors worldwide. They are now looking to strengthen their engineering team with the appointment of a Product Development Engineer at their Westbury facility.

The Role

As a Product Development Engineer, you will play a key role in the conception, design and development of innovative products and technologies, helping bring new ideas from concept through to manufacture.

Working closely with manufacturing, quality and other engineering disciplines, you’ll support the delivery of new products while ensuring designs meet customer requirements, regulatory standards and production needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products and engineering solutions.
• Ensure products comply with relevant quality, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Interpret customer specifications and translate them into practical engineering designs.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Prepare manufacturing design data to support prototype and production activities.
• Define and coordinate product qualification and validation testing.
• Ensure engineering data provided to production is accurate, controlled and up to date.
• Maintain technical documentation to support quality systems and customer audits.
• Develop and apply new engineering technologies, materials and design methods.
• Utilise CAD and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to support product development.
• Drive continuous improvement within product development processes.
• Work collaboratively with manufacturing, quality and other departments to ensure successful product introduction.
• Support the implementation of innovative materials and engineering techniques to enhance product performance.

About You

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Degree qualification (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in product development within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong experience using CAD software for product design.
• Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and engineering analysis techniques.
• Experience taking products from concept through to manufacture.
• Strong technical documentation and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
