New Resource Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing industrial business based in Radstock for a Shunter Driver / Relief Class 2 Driver

The Role

As a Shunter Driver / Relief Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for safely moving vehicles around the site, positioning them into loading bays, and providing holiday cover for the delivery driver fleet when required. You will also support the warehouse operation by assisting with loading and unloading materials, helping to ensure customer orders are delivered safely and on time.

This role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions and requires a proactive, safety-conscious individual who enjoys working as part of a busy team.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely shunt vehicles around the site and into designated loading bays.
• Carry out local deliveries and collections when providing driver cover.
• Load and unload steel products safely and efficiently.
• Assist the warehouse team to ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on time.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
• Follow all health & safety procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Report any accidents, incidents or near misses immediately.
• Maintain high standards of vehicle care and site safety.
• Undertake additional duties as required to support the wider operation.

What We’re Looking For

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence.
• A positive attitude and strong team player.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic.
• Commitment to working safely at all times.
• Previous shunting or HGV driving experience is desirable, although full site-specific training will be provided.
